Electronic Journal from Sakyadhita USA

Issue No. 9 Winter 2016

In this issue, American Buddhist Women presents a collection of essays of remembrance by those who knew Rita longest and best and no doubt appreciated her gifts the most.

Rita Gross was a long-standing member of Sakyadhita International Association of Buddhist Women. In 2010, after the international conference in Vietnam, she became a founding member of the USA national branch of Sakyadhita (SUSA). She had remained a generous and involved Advisory Board member of SUSA since then. She encouraged our work in service to American Buddhist women and, in fact, named this electronic publication, American Buddhist Women.

At Sakyadhita USA, we are grief-stricken to have lost Rita, our irreplaceable friend and guide in Buddhist feminism. We are enormously grateful to the writers who so generously contributed their own remembrances about Rita to this issue.
